Using Padlet
A fantastic resource to be used in many different ways.
In my lessons as a DT and Art teacher I very often use
Padlet as it is a fantastic resource for showcasing visual work. I have also
used Padlet to aid with peer assessment, to play ‘guess who’ games, and to
offer a forum for quick fire questions with 6th form. I have also
started using it for starter activities within a google meet; posing a question
that students can respond to whilst they wait for others to join the meet. Here are some examples:
· A year 8 Art Padlet. This Padlet was used for peer assessment. Students were to follow the assessment criteria also posted on the page. https://padlet.com/barrowt/y14ullp1gjc1h2ke
· This is the same class playing a guess who game. Each student posted their final piece of their bedroom and then the others are guessed who it belonged to based on clues within the piece. From a project about Van Gogh’s bedroom. Attribution was switched off. https://padlet.com/barrowt/ci5y51nqhdn5mwcq
· A year 7 DT group offering class feedback on each other’s design ideas for a nature inspired light source. https://padlet.com/barrowt/qziglzv1w5s6l1ul
· This Padlet was used with Y12 Product Design to complete quick fire questions. This enabled us to discuss which answers were successful and which weren’t. https://padlet.com/barrowt/f5tzif9gxd3f7o0s
· These Padlets were used as galleries. (In both DT and Art) Students were able to see each other’s work but comments were switched off. I have shared the screen of galleries within google meet to aid discussion during lockdown. https://padlet.com/barrowt/5z8gmr53rxk12cnt https://padlet.com/barrowt/3np222plfm01elg4
· This Padlet was used as a starter activity
and a quick way for students to share their thoughts on a starting point for a
new project. I was able to give my thoughts very quickly and all students could
read each other’s. It led to an alternative for a large classroom discussion. https://padlet.com/barrowt/wuselutakdjn81mz
